The words, Silence and oppression are synonymous.

As noted in the Final Solution Reading, “hundreds of thousands of people were involved, either directly or indirectly, in implementing the ‘Final Solution’.  In your opinion, were any of these people exempt from blame?  Explain your thinking

I think that some are more to blame than others but, no one is exempt from blame. We are all to blame. Everyone, even those who ¨Did nothing¨  doing nothing is being a bystander. Being a bystander is wrong. Silence helps the oppressor, never the victim. So really, no one is exempt, only some are just more to blame than others. This reminds me of an article I read about a murder in New York, in 1964. At least 38 people witnessed or heard this woman´s attack, yet only one woman called the police. By then it was too late. All of them were bystanders, and we have something to learn from this: Don't be a bystander. When you're a bystander, people suffer. I have a quote about the Holocaust, ¨The greatest crime in history is not violence, it´s silence. Silence is not golden.¨ Which shows me that if no one takes action things get out of hand. It says that silence, is worse than violence, and I agree. I think it is, because if no one was silent about the Holocaust it would not have happened. If you take a stand, violence will not be permitted to worsen, or even occur.  Actually, the only ones who could be exempt were those who helped the Jews during the Holocaust. Because really, not everyone is always a bystander.
